Download and Install Wii U Games with USB Helper

This guide will show you how to download Wii U and Wii game backups using Wii U USB Helper. USB Helper Launcher is a set of patches to revive the discontinued USB Helper.

USB Helper can also convert Gamecube .ISO game files to virtual console injects that can be launched from the Wii U System Menu and played on the Gamepad. Wii U, Wii and Gamecube game backups will be installed with WUP Installer GX2.

Required Downloads:

Hacked Wii U on Firmware 5.5.4

  • USB Helper requires a Wii U with custom firmware such as Mocha or Haxchi

SD Card (64B or larger recommended)

  • An SD card is required to install the homebrew and game files on your Wii U console
  • The SD card must be formatted to FAT32

Windows PC

  • Wii U USB Helper is a Windows application
  • Wii U USB Helper Launcher is the name for the set of patches required for USB Helper to function

Internet Connection

  • An internet connection is required to download games with Wii U USB Helper

WUP Installer GX2 Installed on Wii U

Wiimote + Sensor Bar (Optional)

  • A Wiimote is required to play Wii games on your Wii U
  • The Gamepad (infrared sensors) can be used as as a sensor bar to play on the Gamepad screen only
  • A sensor bar is required to play Wii games with your TV

Installing USBHelper

  1. On your PC, create a folder named USBHelper Downloads
  2. Create two folders calledand DL-Dec and DL-Enc inside the /USBHelper Downloads/ folder on your PCwii u usbhelper folder setup download location
  3. Run USBHelperInstaller.exe to install USBHelperwii u usbhelper install
  4. Select version 0.6.1.655 and wait for the process to completewii u usbhelper install version
  5. Launch USBHelper once installation is complete
  6. Agree to the disclaimer and select your regionwii u usbhelper region select
  7. Select the /USBHelper Downloads/DL-Enc/ folder on your PC as the location to store your gameswii u usbhelper folder setup dl-enc download
  8. Enter titlekey.ovh as the site for the title keyswii u usbhelper titlekeys ovh
  9. Once USBHelper has loaded, click [Set extraction directory]wii u usbhelper extraction location
  10. Select the /USBHelper Downloads/DL-Dec/ folder on your PCwii u usbhelper folder setup dl-dec extraction

Congratulations on completing the initial setup for Wii U USB Helper, you can now move onto downloading backup games directly to your PC from the application.

Downloading Games

  1. Browse or search for the game you wish to downloadwii u usbhelper search game
  2. Click the [Add], [Add update] or [Add DLC] buttons to add games, updates or DLC to the download queuewii u usbhelper add games update dlc download
  3. Select [Start downloading] to begin the downloadswii u usbhelper start download
  4. A download manager will appear to show the progress of your downloadswii u usbhelper download manager
  5. Once your download is complete, insert your Wii U SD card into your PC and click [Copy to SD]wii u usbhelper copy to sd
  6. Select the folders you wish to copy (Game, Updates, DLC)wii u usbhelper copy to sd folders
  7. You can now click [Copy to SD] in the copy queue and select your SD card drivewii u usbhelper copy queue
  8. Once copying is complete, insert your SD card into your Wii U and power it onwii u usbhelper copying to sd

Installing Games from SD to Wii U

  1. Load your CFW patches and launch the Homebrew Launcher via your preferred method
  2. Select WUP Installer GX2wii u haxchi wup installer gx2
  3. Select the games’ folders you wish to install then select [Install]
  4. Select [NAND] or [USB] as the install location and wait for the process to complete
  5. Press the [Home] button to close the Homebrew Launcher to find your game installed in the Wii U Menuwii u usbhelper wup installer gx2 pikmin system menu
  6. Launch your game and enjoywii u usbhelper wup installer gx2 pikmin

Congratulations, you can now download Wii U and Wii games with USBHelper and install them to your console with WUP Installer GX2.
