PS Vita as a PC Game Controller
This guide will show you how to use your PS Vita as a game controller for your PC. VitaStickUno is a homebrew app and plugin by newrcc that allow your PS Vita to be recognised as a USB game controller for PC. It is a modified version of VitaStick by xerpi with additional features and improved stability. With VitaStickUno you’ll be able to use your PS Vita as a PC game controller that works with your games seamlessly and is perfect for emulators that are better suited for the simple control scheme of the PS Vita.
Required Downloads:
- VitaStickUno
- JoyToKey (Optional)
PlayStation Vita with Custom Firmware
PS Vita USB Cable
- VitaStick requires the USB cable to connect your PS Vita to a Windows PC to use it as a USB game controller
Installing VitaStickUno
- On your PS Vita, launch VitaShell and press [Select] to enter FTP mode
- Enter the address displayed on the PS Vita in your PC file browser e.g.
ftp://xxx.xxx.x.x:1337
- On your PC file browser, copy
vitastick.skrpx
to theur0:/tai/
folder on your PS Vita - Go to the
ux0:
and create a folder calledvpk
if it doesn’t already exist - Copy
VitaStickUno.vpk
to theux0:/vpk/
folder on your PS Vita - Press [Circle] on your PS Vita to close the FTP connection when the transfer is complete
- In VitaShell, go to the
ur0:
->/tai/
folder - Highlight
config.txt
and press [Cross] to edit the file - Highlight a line below
*KERNEL
and press [Triangle] -> [Insert empty line] - Highlight the empty line and press [Cross] to edit
- Enter
ur0:tai/vitastick.skprx
and press [Circle] - Press [Circle] to exit the editor and press [Cross] Save your changes
- Go to
ux0:
->/vpk/
then highlightVitaStickUno.vpk
- Press [Cross] to install it and confirm the extended permissions prompt
- Exit VitaShell when the installation is complete and restart your PS Vita for the changes to take place
- If you do not have permanent custom firmware via Ensō, reload your exploit
- Launch the VitastickUno bubble in your LiveArea
Configuring Vita Controller on PC
Your PS Vita should be recognised as a game controller when VitaStickUno is running, you can check if your inputs are being registered correctly by going to [Control Panel] -> [Devices and Printers]. Right-click the PS Vita icon and select [Game controller settings]
Click [Properties] in the next window to view and test the PS Vita’s inputs and calibration settings
Your PS Vita will function as a genuine game controller so it will compatible with most Windows and Steam games right out of the box. However, some older titles are not compatible with game controllers an you will need to bind keys to your controller buttons using the JoyTokey application to use a controller in these games.

PS4 Remote Play
- You can play PS4 games on your PS Vita using the official Remote Play function
