Switch Incognito - Remove Identification Information and Prevent Bans
This guide will show you how to set up Incognito on your hacked Nintendo Switch. Incognito will remove your device’s personal identification information; Nintendo servers will no longer be able to connect to your device and you will not be banned for connecting to the internet with your console. Your Switch’s identification information will be saved to a file on your SD and can be restored at any time.
It is advised to have a NAND backup of your Switch that is stored in a safe place, the only the way to restore your Switch’s identification information (prodinfo_.bin
) file without a copy is through the use of a full NAND backup.
Required Downloads:
Nintendo Switch with Custom Firmware
- The Lockpick_RCM payload requires an unpatched Switch and is used alongside CFW such as Atmosphere
- You cannot run homebrew applications with unhacked or stock Switch consoles
- This guide assumes you have all the basic requirements to enter RCM and boot into CFW
Incognito RCM
- Launch TegraRcmGUI
- Select the
Incognito_RCM.bin
file as the payload and inject it to boot into Incognito RCM - From the menu, select [Backup] to create a backup of your console’s information before removing it
- Select SysNAND if you are using custom firmware on your Switch’s internal storage
- select emuMMC if you are using an EmuNAND setup for CFW
This is important, your console’s identification information cannot be restored without a backup and you will essentially have blocked yourself from Nintendo’s servers permanently if you do not make one. The only other method to restore your Switch’s information is with a previously made NAND backup. - Once the backup is created, press any button to return to the main menu
- Select [Incognito] to remove your console’s identification information
- Select SysNAND if you are using custom firmware on your Switch’s internal storage
- select emuMMC if you are using an EmuNAND setup for CFW
- Power off your Switch once complete
- Your
prodinfo_.bin
file will saved to the the root of your SD card, move it to a safe place on your PC
Your serial number in [System Settings] -> [System] -> [Serial Numbers] will be removed while Incognito is active.
Inject the Incognito_RCM.bin
payload and select [Restore] to restore your console’s identification information at any time. Your prodinfo_.bin
must be present in the root of your SD card when restoring the information.
