SD2VITA - Use MicroSD for PS Vita

The SD2Vita is a MicroSD adapter that fits into the game card slot, it can be used to greatly increase your storage capacity without having to use an expensive Sony memory card. The StorageMgr plugin by CelesteBlue is required to redirect your PS Vita’s main storage location to the SD2Vita adapter. StorageMgr will be installed and configured using Autoplugin.
Required Downloads:
PlayStation Vita with Custom Firmware
- StorageMgr, Autoplugin and the SD2Vita adapter require a PS Vita running CFW such as HENkaku or h-encore
PS Vita 1000 (Fat) Models require an official Sony Memory Card to install homebrew
SD2Vita Adapter 
- Greatly expand your storage options with the MicroSD to PSVita (SD2Vita) adapter
- Convert the PS Vita game slot into a MicroSD slot
- 128GB or larger MicroSD recommeded for storing games
Wi-Fi or USB Connection
- You will need a Wi-Fi or USB connection to transfer the install files via FTP or USB with VitaShell
Autoplugin
- You will need to install the Autoplugin app to easily install and configure StorageMgr
Backup PS Vita Files on PC
- On your PS Vita, launch [VitaShell] and press the [Select] button to activate USB or FTP mode
In VitaShell, press [Start] and select [SELECT button] to toggle between FTP and USB mode.
- For FTP mode: enter the address displayed on your PS Vita in your PC file browser e.g.
ftp://xxx.xxx.x.x:1337
- For USB mode: connect your USB to your computer and it will function as a USB storage device
- For FTP mode: enter the address displayed on your PS Vita in your PC file browser e.g.
- Copy all the contents within the
ux0:
directory to a folder on your PC
This may take a while if you have many games installed.
Preparing the MicroSD
- Plug your SD card into your PC
- Install and launch Win32 Disc Imager
- Select the location of your
zzBlank.img
file [Image File] - Select the drive letter for your MicroSD [Device]
- Click [Write] and wait for the process to finish
- Eject and re-insert your MicroSD card into your PC
- Format the MicroSD card if prompted, or right-click the drive and select [Format]
- Set [Filesystem] to [ExFAT]
- Set [Allocation unit size] to [Default allocation size]If your MicroSD is larger than 128GB, set the [allocation unit size] to [64k cluster]
- Click [Start] and wait for the process to finish
- Copy all content you backed up on your PC from
ux0:
to the root of the MicroSD cardThis may take a while if you have a lot of games installed. - Eject the MicroSD card and insert it into your SD2Vita adapter
Configuring StorageMgr
- Insert your MicroSD + SD2Vita into the game card slot and power on your PS Vita
- If you do not have permanent custom firmware via Ensō, reload it using your chosen exploit (h-encore or Trinity)
- Launch Autoplugin
- Select [Install Plugin for SD2Vita] and press [Cross] to confirm
- Set [MCD (Official Memory Card)] to [uma0 (USB Port)]
- Set [INT (Internal Memory on Vita 2K)] to [none (Unmounted)] for Vita 1000 (Fat) or [imc0] for Vita 2000 (Slim)
- Set [GCD (SD2Vita)] to [ux0 (LiveArea Applications)]
- Set [UMA (USB or PSVSD on Vita 3G)] to [none (Unmounted)]
- Press [Triangle] to save your settings then press [Cross] reboot the PS Vita
- If you do not have permanent custom firmware via Ensō, reload it using your chosen exploit (h-encore or Trinity)
- Launch VitaShell to verify the changes
Congratulations, you can now use a MicroSD for better storage options for the PS Vita. Consoles without Ensō must reload their homebrew exploit on every reboot or the SD2Vita will not function.

Installing PS Vita Game Backups
- PS Vita game content can be installed on your PS Vita by transferring the files via USB or FTP using VitaShell
- SD2Vita users can also transfer the game files directly to SD card
