Create PS Vita Backups from Game Cards

This guide will show you how to backup your PS Vita games so they can be played without the game card. You can create your own backups of your game cards by dumping them to the PS Vita memory card or onto your PC. You’ll be able to play them using the license files generated by the NoNpDrm plugin.
PS Vita with CFW
NoNpDrm Plugin
- The NoNpDrm plugin by TheOfficialFlow is required to generate the fake license file so the game will run
Wi-Fi or USB Connection
- You will need a Wi-Fi or USB connection to transfer the install files via FTP or USB with VitaShell
Autoplugin (Optional)
- The NoNpDrm plugin can be installed easily using the Autoplugin homebrew app on PS Vita
SD2Vita Adapter (Recommended)
- Greatly expand your storage options with the MicroSD to PSVita (SD2Vita) adapter
- Convert the PS Vita game slot into a MicroSD slot
- 128GB or larger MicroSD recommeded for storing games

Dumping Game Cards
You must disable SD2Vita before dumping a game card.
- First launch the game you wish to dump at least once with the NoNpDrm plugin enabled
- Launch VitaShell
- Press [Start] and set [USB device] to [Game Card]
- Press [Select] to enter FTP or USB mode
In VitaShell, press [Start] and select [SELECT button] to toggle between FTP and USB mode.
- For FTP mode: enter the address displayed on your PS Vita in your PC file browser e.g.
ftp://xxx.xxx.x.x:1337
- For USB mode: connect your USB to your computer and it will function as a USB storage device
- For FTP mode: enter the address displayed on your PS Vita in your PC file browser e.g.
- On your PC file browser, go to

- Copy your game folder

to a location on your PC - Go to

- Rename

folder on your PC - Transfer the game backup

from your PC to theux0:/app/
folder on your PS Vita memory card - Press [Circle] on your PS Vita to exit FTP/USB mode
- Go back to the VitaShell root directory list
- Press [Triangle] and select [Refresh LiveArea™]
- Exit VitaShell and launch your game from the LiveArea
Congratulations, you’ve dumped your game to your memory card with the NoNpDrm license file so you can now play it without inserting the game card.
